| Unlike the previous "Star Trek" series,
"Deep Space Nine" takes place in an uncomfortable and less-than-perfect
environment where the characters' beliefs and values are in conflict with one another. The
diversity of the characters vary from the noble and heroic Commander Benjamin Sisko to the
sexist and greedy alien named Quark. Thus, through these conflicts the series is able to
explore new avenues while continuing to maintain Roddenberry's vision in which the human
race triumphs over greed, aggression and prejudice. Click on the
